Le 27 février 2025, l’International Film Music Critics Association a remis ses prix aux meilleurs compositeurs et partitions de 2024. Petite nouveauté de cette année : une catégorie consacrée aux courts-métrages, avec un lauréat qui ne nous est pas tout à fait inconnu… Entre le retour en force de Bear McCreary et le respect éternel envers Alan Silvestri, bien d’autres lauréats créent la surprise, notamment Daniel Blumberg et son Brutalist. Bravo à eux ! D’autres prix ont été remis par ailleurs : le Alberto Aschieri Special Award for Contribution to Film Music pour William Stromberg, John Morgan et Anna Bonn, et le Kyle Renick Special Award pour le documentaire de Laurent Bouzereau, Music By John Williams.
