La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures proudly present the world premiere release of acclaimed composer Hans Zimmer’s (DUNE, NO TIME TO DIE, THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN) original motion picture score to the 2005 feature film dramatic comedy THE WEATHER MAN, starring Nicolas Cage, Michael Caine and Hope Davis, and directed by Gore Verbinski.

Once again collaborating with director Gore Verbinski, composer Hans Zimmer fashions a wonderfully soulful and thoughtful score, expertly mixing pathos and hope, and heart and melancholy – the perfect complement to this unique and compelling film and its titular character’s tale of mid-life crisis and redemption. Jazz and reggae flavors infuse this lively and reflective musical work, lending a “jam” flourish to the overall score. Produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by Doug Schwartz, this CD presentation marks the score’s premiere release on any format. The exclusive liner notes by film music journalist Kaya Savas features a new interview with Hans Zimmer, Gore Verbinski, co-composer James S. Levine, as well as music team members Clay Duncan, Heitor Pereira and Ryeland Allison. The sharp art direction is by Goldwasser.

ALSO AVAILABLE FROM LA-LA LAND RECORDS:

THE LOST CITY: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1589
Music by Pinar Toprak
Limited Edition of 2000 Units
RETAIL PRICE: $16.98

La-La Land Records, Paramount Music and Paramount Pictures proudly present acclaimed composer Pinar Toprak’s (CAPTAIN MARVEL, STARGIRL) original motion picture score to the Paramount Pictures action adventure comedy THE LOST CITY, starring Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe, and Brad Pitt, and directed by Adam Nee and Aaron Nee.

Also featured on the soundtrack are “Danza De Dos,” “Bolerito De La Isla,” and “Lágrimas Sin Fin (featuring lyrics by David Aguilar),” three new tracks written for the film by Grammy and Latin Grammy winning composer, arranger, producer and performer, Cheche Alara.

In THE LOST CITY, brilliant, but reclusive author Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock) has spent her career writing about exotic places in her popular romance-adventure novels featuring handsome cover model Alan (Channing Tatum), who has dedicated his life to embodying the hero character, “Dash.” While on tour promoting her new book with Alan, Loretta is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire and Alan sets off to rescue her. Now, the unlikely pair will need to work together to survive the elements and find the ancient treasure before it’s lost forever.

The film’s exhilarating original score bursts with full-throttle adventurous fun, action and romance. "Writing this score brought me back to why I fell in love with film scores in the first place,” says renowned composer Pinar Toprak, “The adventure, the romance, and most importantly the FUN. It’s been a pure joy paying homage to those classic adventure films I loved growing up while giving it my own contemporary signature. It’s my sincerest hope that this score, like the ones that inspired me as a child, will withstand the test of time as well.”

Produced by Pinar Toprak and Shie Rozow and mastered by Gavin Lurseen at Lurrsen Mastering, this limited edition CD release of 2000 units features art design by Dan Goldwasser.

Digital Download version available from Paramount Music.

BRAVEHEART: LIMITED EDITION - REISSUE (2-CD SET) LLLCD 1587
Music by James Horner
Limited Edition of 3000 Units
RETAIL PRICE: $29.98

La-La Land Records, Icon Productions, Paramount Pictures and Universal Music Special Markets proudly present a reissue of the expanded and remastered 2-CD limited edition of James Horner’s (ALIENS, GLORY, SEARCHING FOR BOBBY FISCHER, TITANIC) original motion picture score to BRAVEHEART. The 1995 Best Picture winner, starring Mel Gibson, Sophie Marceau and Patrick McGoohan, and directed by Mel Gibson, continues to endure today as a cinematic landmark and Mr. Horner’s indelible, Oscar-nominated score ranks among his finest – thrilling, dramatic, romantic - expertly supporting and advancing plot, character and heartfelt emotion in equal measure. Produced by Dan Goldwasser and Mike Matessino, and mastered by Matessino from Paramount vault elements, this 2-CD expanded presentation has a total running time of nearly 2 hours and 10 minutes and contains previously unreleased music, as well as source music tracks and additional alternate cues. Exclusive, in-depth liner notes from writer Jeff Bond, featuring interview comments from director/star Mel Gibson, and bold art direction from Jim Titus complement this deluxe release.

TOP SECRET!: LIMITED EDITION (2-CD SET) LLLCD 1588
Music by Maurice Jarre
Limited Edition of 2000 Units
RETAIL PRICE: $26.98

La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures, in conjunction with JAY Entertainment, proudly present a 2-CD expanded and remastered release of renowned composer Maurice Jarre’s (LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, DOCTOR ZHIVAGO, WITNESS) original score to the 1984 big screen cult comedy classic TOP SECRET!, written and directed by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker, and starring Val Kilmer.

The creative team behind the legendary AIRPLANE!, Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker, followed that comedy classic with this wildly uproarious and unlikely send-up of WWII action dramas and 60’s Elvis films. The film would launch Val Kilmer’s film career -- he shines here as both a skilled comic actor and singer – and composer Maurice Jarre’s rich orchestral score sends the laughs into the stratosphere, his wonderful music in perfect dramatic juxtaposition against all the on-screen hilarity.

Disc One of this 2-CD presentation marks the world premiere of Maurice Jarre’s film score recording (the original score album was re-recorded), along with bonus and source cues, while Disc Two features the CD world premiere of the film’s funny (and extremely catchy) retro-rock songs, (including “Skeet Surfing”, “How Silly Can You Get?” and more), along with the remastered original 1984 score album. Produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by Chris Malone, this limited release of 2000 units features exclusive, in-depth liner notes by writer Daniel Schweiger, (featuring new interview comments from the writer/directors and others), and art direction by Dan Goldwasser.

FIRE IN THE SKY: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1586
Music by Mark Isham
Limited Edition of 1000 Units
RETAIL PRICE: $21.98

La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures proudly present an expanded and remastered release of acclaimed composer Mark Isham’s (POINT BREAK, A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT) original score to the 1993 feature film sci-fi drama FIRE IN THE SKY, directed by Robert Lieberman, and starring D.B. Sweeney, Robert Patrick and James Garner.

Composer Mark Isham’s compelling score to this involving and reportedly true account of a rural timber worker’s alien abduction is a potent and elegant musical work, brimming with tension and atmospheric suspense, but also heart and Americana. It’s a rich, dynamic meld of inventive synth and traditional orchestra that is celebrated in this remastered CD presentation, expanded with previously unreleased music. Produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by James Nelson, this limited release of 1000 units features exclusive, in-depth liner notes by Jeff Bond and art direction by Goldwasser.

STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE (2-CD SET) LLLCD 1579
Music by Jerry Goldsmith
LIMITED EDITION OF 10000 UNITS
RETAIL PRICE: $29.98

Jerry Goldsmith’s iconic original score to Paramount Pictures’ 1979 feature film STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE boldly returns with a limited edition 2-CD re-issue from La-La Land Records and Paramount MNusic.

The first big screen voyage of Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock was a high budget and ambitious undertaking that introduced Goldsmith’s famous and enduring Star Trek march (later used as the main theme for Star Trek: The Next Generation) as the cornerstone of an epic science fiction musical odyssey. Like the film’s refit starship Enterprise, La-La Land’s lavish 2012 restoration presented the score anew: fully restored, remixed and mastered from the first generation multi-track masters by Bruce Botnick, the original album co-producer and Goldsmith’s long time scoring engineer.

This new 2-CD edition is the official tie-in soundtrack to the forthcoming STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE: THE DIRECTOR’S EDITION, premiering this year on the Paramount Plus streaming service. Post-Production Supervisor/Associate Producer Mike Matessino co-produces the album with Botnick, handling restoration, editing and assembly of the music.

This edition definitively presents the full film score on CD1, continuing through the start of CD2. The program now begins with the long version of the “Overture,” reflective of “The Director’s Edition,” with the short version heard in 1979 now kicking off a section of “Alternates” on CD2, which feature early versions of major score cues that were later reworked. Closing out the presentation is the enduring 1979 soundtrack album program, now re-created from the remixed first generation master material for consistent and superior sound quality throughout the set.

Matessino collaborates with Jeff Bond on the thoroughly researched album notes, which feature interview excerpts by Goldsmith, Botnick and performers Craig Huxley and David Newman. The packaging and 28-page full color booklet are designed by Jim Titus and feature new images from “The Director’s Edition.”

For fans only, comme dirait l'autre... et encore.

Dans mon palmarès perso, je citerai THE WAR, THE PLAYER, LITTLE WOMEN, et bien sur l'incontournable THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION.

Mais j'adore sa période "FilmMusic", "The Moderns", "The Emperor and the Nightingale", etc…
